Male vs. female betta fish
Koi male betta and koi female betta are unique sea creatures in their way of living. They have fantastic skin colors, beautiful skin patterns, and an ideal way of living.
These two genders differ in living, mating, dieting,
and residing with other fishes.
Male betta
Betta fishes are known as siamese fighting fish
because they have a habit of being aggressive to other fishes, whoever comes
close to them. They like to be dominant in a fight and also, and they don't
want to share their piece of territory.
They have beautiful and vivid colors on their skin,
which looks solid when seen by the naked eye. There are a bunch of skin
patterns on them, making their color and body texture a little more firm and
stiff.
Male bettas have a larger body with a thick beard
around their chin ( neck ). Tail and fins are also more prominent in male
bettas. They can't simply live with other bettas at any cost. Their mating
procedure must also be handled with great care and ease.
Because when the mating procedure is completed, the
male betta will attack the female betta, forcing the other betta to flee the
area or kill them.
Female betta
The female betta is a little bit less aggressive
when compared to the male betta. It is because they have a more petite bodies,
small fins, and tails. There is no beard around the chin or neck of female
betta.
Also, the female betta's color is slightly dull
compared to the male betta. But the skin patterns look sharp around the edges.
The mating procedure in female betta is rough and confusing people in many
ways. It is because when the female lays down the eggs, she gets stressed over
time, resulting in damaging the eggs or eating them when she is hungry.
If the male betta notices this behavior, he will
attack or even kill her in the worst-case scenario. Female betta is calm in
their nature of living, meaning they can live with 2 or 3 fishes in a single
tank without having any dispute.
Lifespan
Bettas usually live for around only 2 or 3 years.
Water plays a crucial role in their lifespan and also their diet. They
currently reside in freshwater, with a low pH level and a low state of water
flow.
It is also reported that when betta is handled with
great care and attention, it can easily live upto 5 or 7 years maximum. Who
doesn't want to live with their betta more than usual? Everyone does.
They are fantastic sea creatures that can enhance
the beauty of the room where they reside. The owner can even play with them by
calling a name couple of times on a daily occasion.
Care
Bettas don't require a lot of care and attention.
